Massapequa, NY…The Health and Business Alliance (HBA), a professional association bringing together Queens and Long Island-based professionals from the health, nonprofit and business sectors, elected two individuals to its board at its March 2019 meeting. Bert Lurch of Floral Park, CEO of E Central Medical Management in New Hyde Park, was re-elected to a second term as HBA president. Theresa Jacobellis of Centerport, owner of PrescRXptive Communications, LLC, was elected to her first term as a board member.

Bert Lurch is Co-Founder and CEO of E Central Medical Management (ECM), a full-service medical billing and practice management firm. After graduating from SUNY Old Westbury, Bert began his career at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. He and his business partner, Louis Burke, founded ECM in 1999. Along with his role at the Health & Business Alliance, Bert is active in the business and non-profit community, serving on the President’s Council of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island, as co-chair of the Health & Wellness Committee of the Queens Chamber of Commerce, and as a member of the Long Island Elite (LIE).

Theresa Jacobellis’ company, PrescRXptive Communications, is a marketing communications agency focused on healthcare, nonprofits and the professional services industries. She is a member of Public Relations Professionals of Long Island and is on the adjunct faculty of Hofstra University and LIU/CW Post, where she teaches in the public relations programs at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. Her work has garnered national awards including the Aster Award, the Healthcare Advertising Awards, and the Cardiovascular Advertising Awards.

Established in 2002, the HBA holds its meetings on the first Friday of each month with the goal of creating mutually beneficial agendas and maximizing common goals and objectives. Breakfast meetings feature a virtual “Trading Post” where relationships are born and alliances are forged, along with educational presentations and opportunities for networking.
